Capability

Our technology provides a new dredging solution for three prime areas.

  • Harbors; Waterways; and Reservoirs

And can perform specialized dredging for some troublesome situations.

  • Underwater Pipe and Cable installation, removal, and inspection; Vessel Salvage, Cleaning sediment off Shellfish Beds, Underwater Archaeology; and the Capping of Contaminated Sediment.

Harbors

  • The Wing Marine Sediment Extraction System can sweep up to 1500 cubic yards per hour of sediment from a berth to a stockpile, depending on the sediment characteristics. The pump can extract 500 cubic yards per hour from the stockpile for disposal.  Any underwater obstructions are exposed but do not stop sediment removal. A typical berth takes hours, not days, to clean, freeing it for the next vessel and reducing demurrage time.

Waterways

  • Wing Marine can maintain shipping channels and waterways continuously. Our vessels can operate at the depths required, and our vessels' small footprint will not interfere with harbor or waterway traffic, including the Intracoastal waterway.

Reservoirs

  • The modular design of the vessels allows for transportation to almost any location, and the ability of our system to avoid underwater obstructions, and move sediment against the current or uphill, provides a unique solution to the removal of sediment to restore reservoir capacity. Depths of over a hundred feet are entirely within our design parameters.

Underwater Pipe and Cable

  • Installation, trenching, inspection, modification, and reburial of pipeline and high-voltage cable are in the Wing Vessel's design parameters.

Vessel Salvage

  • The Wing Fluidizer and Pump can be utilized to remove sediment from around stranded vessels and create a channel to safely refloat the vessel

Cleaning sediment off shellfish beds

  • The Wing is appropriate for removing sediment from shellfish beds. After Oyster Beds in Galveston Bay had sediment deposited over them after a significant storm, the Wing was positioned above the beds and gently swept the sediment away, restoring the beds.

Underwater Archaeology

  • Due to the variable force that The Wing can impart on the accumulated sediment, it is a reliable option for uncovering items during an underwater archaeology excavation. The Pump setting is adjustable to allow the recovery of items within the sediment and pump them to a screening table.

Capping of Contaminated Sediments

  • The Wing Marine system is suitable for the capping of Contaminated Sediment. The System can excavate a depression, move the contaminated sediment into the depression, and cap the whole area with a suitable material.
